Seasons Greetings
Hope the holiday season finds you well. I wish I could say everything is fine but it’s Christmas and baby Jesus wouldn’t want me to withhold the truth. The family is kind of
fragmented this year what with my one brother going off to Ecuador to do God’s work
and the other in jail for the little drug indiscretion.
On the home front I hired someone nice from an agency to take my mother out for Christmas Dinner and exchange gifts. He looks a lot like me and she won’t notice. They doubled the taxes on my house- don’t know where I’m going to get the money since they cut off my unemployment and have not been able to find any ‘livable wage’ work. I’ve been thinking about a late night peremptory loan from the local 7/ Eleven but it saddens me to think about something like that what with the season and all.
My health is holding up pretty well, except for the teeth, which is a good thing as I can’t afford to keep my health insurance which runs out at the end of December after the Peace, Love, and Good Will. Also, I had quite a scare last week. Thought my dog Alfie was going die, just wobbled and fell over one morning and wouldn’t get up for two days. Couldn’t afford a vet so I prayed and he resurrected but I keep my fingers crossed. Of course he’s usually incontinent now so the carpet always smells like urine but I just try to remember baby Jesus in the manger with the animals.
Always a little lonely this time of year. Hard to believe my relationship with Sue has been over two years now. I’m feeling more stable now but still think of her often, which may be partly due to the herpes. It’s hard to tell. The Lord’s dark mysteries go on and as my neighbor says “look for the silver lining,” of course he can afford to get his teeth fixed and hasn’t seemed too interested in lining my cloud with any silver, but he may be right as I did get started on the anti-depressants before my coverage ran out and while they have destroyed my sex drive at least I’m not depressed about it. Well, that’s it for now, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
